'Please Play Us When GTA 6 Comes Out': Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Developer Hints at Post-Launch Support

The director of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has urged fans to keep playing the game even after Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19. With GTA 6 expected to dominate gamers' time and attention, many developers have shifted their releases to September and early October to avoid direct competition. However, the Resynced team is committed to supporting their game through that period.

When asked about future updates for the recently released remake, game director Richard Knight remained coy but mentioned the upcoming New Game Plus mode, which publisher Ubisoft had previously confirmed. While specifics beyond that remain unclear, Knight suggested that support will continue through GTA 6's launch. "I can't say anything officially, but it doesn't feel like a crazy bet," he told Assassin's Creed fan YouTuber JorRaptor. "We definitely need to support the game... fix bugs, add quality-of-life stuff. Also, please play us when GTA 6 comes out."

Ubisoft confirmed last week that New Game Plus is coming to Resynced, alongside celebrating 3 million copies sold. "We're working on that right now," Knight said. "It's considered a low-risk feature for us because Shadows already built their version." He couldn't promise a release date but confirmed it's in development.

Other potential additions could include a challenge mode similar to the one added to Assassin's Creed Mirage, allowing players to replay missions with new objectives and earn in-game items. Fans are also hoping for the return of the popular DLC Freedom Cry from the original Black Flag, which featured a new story for Adewale. However, this would be a major undertaking, and Ubisoft has not indicated it's in the works.

For now, the base game offers plenty to keep fans engaged. IGN gave Resynced a 9/10 in its review, calling it "more than just a shinier version of the same game you remember."
