Sony has unveiled the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, which includes fresh content for the action-adventure game. On the PlayStation Blog, Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch Productions, announced that the expansion, a new survival mode, and quality-of-life updates will launch on October 1. The narrative expansion, titled 'Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara,' presents a dual timeline. Players will explore a valley in Ezo previously controlled by The Snake and his Vipers, meeting Nagato, a figure from Atsu's past. Flashbacks reveal Atsu's experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara, a pivotal moment before her quest for revenge. The expansion introduces new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and more. The survival mode, 'Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted,' offers a roguelike experience where players take on bounties, earn perks by defeating enemies, and can unlock additional characters. The trailer showcases Atsu with dual katanas, Oyuki with a kusarigama, and Nagato with a yari. Goldfarb expressed excitement for players to perfect their combat runs. The Complete Edition, priced at $69.99, includes the base game, both new expansions, and the co-op mode 'Ghost of Yōtei Legends.' Owners of the Complete Edition can immediately play the main game and Legends, with the expansions arriving via patch on October 1. The edition also includes all Digital Deluxe content and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Purchasing by September 30 grants early access to the Sakai Armor, a nod to Jin's armor from Ghost of Tsushima. Existing owners can upgrade for $14.99. The Complete Edition adds new Watanabe Mode tracks, photo mode stamps, New Game+ cosmetics, and new Trophies. A free patch on October 1 introduces 'Beauty of Yōtei' mode, a screensaver-like feature for viewing Ezo's environments, plus quality-of-life improvements like armor appearance customization and a high contrast accessibility option. Ghost of Yōtei sold 3.3 million copies in its first month, and Sony previously stated it outperformed Ghost of Tsushima in the same period, contributing significantly to financial results.
