The Blood of Dawnwalker has finally received a release date, but developer Rebel Wolves has also unveiled the PC system requirements, and they are quite demanding. As seen in recent titles like Crimson Desert, Rebel Wolves provided a chart detailing the hardware needed for various resolutions, quality presets, and target frame rates, ranging from minimum settings to 4K Ultra. The minimum requirements are reasonable, calling for an RTX 3050 or GTX 1070 to run at 1080p and 30fps. However, to max out the game at 4K 60fps, you'll need an RTX 5090—the most expensive consumer GPU in recent history. The RTX 5090 launched in January 2026 at $1,999, but prices have since skyrocketed to around $3,699 on Newegg. Notably, the 4K Ultra preset targets native resolution without DLSS or FSR, so enabling upscaling could significantly reduce GPU load. It's unclear whether these high demands stem from optimization issues or the game's inherent complexity. Given that Rebel Wolves includes many CD Projekt Red alumni, it's unsurprising they're targeting high-end PCs. The game launches on September 3, and I'll be testing it on multiple GPUs to see how well it performs. Hopefully, it makes good use of that high-end hardware—just as The Witcher 3 did in its day.
