Report: New Uncharted Game Starring Nathan Drake in Development at Naughty Dog

According to a recent report, a brand new Uncharted game featuring Nathan Drake is currently in the works at Naughty Dog, among other projects.

MP1st reports that the next Uncharted game, which is not a remake, is in active development at Naughty Dog. The game will include Nathan Drake in some capacity, though it's unclear whether he'll be the main protagonist, a supporting character, or just make a cameo. The project is being directed by Shaun Escayg, who previously directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the standalone expansion for Uncharted 4. This has been rumored for years, and Escayg himself has recently teased the project on social media.

Earlier this year, the director traveled to Trinidad for "research" and shared a photo of a very old cannon. MP1st also notes that the new Uncharted game is expected to be Naughty Dog's next title after the release of Intergalactic, which is speculated to launch next year. The studio recently confirmed that it will reveal more about its upcoming sci-fi game in 2027.

Additionally, Naughty Dog has confirmed that multiple The Last of Us projects are in development beyond the existing HBO TV series. Series creator Neil Druckmann has remained tight-lipped about the mediums for these projects, so they could be TV shows, films, books, or games. However, it's likely that at least one is a video game, and fans are hoping for The Last of Us Part 3.

The next Uncharted game is expected to be at least a couple of years away. Uncharted 4 was released a decade ago and provided a fitting conclusion to Nathan Drake's adventures. But since he remained alive and well, the door has always been open for another adventure. Now, Drake could be joined by his daughter, Cassie, who has shown a clear interest in her father's hobbies.
