Sony Unveils October 2026 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games

Sony has officially announced the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for October. This month's selection includes three diverse titles: a slightly dated racing game, a monster-hunting extraction shooter, and a multiplayer voxel-based shooter. Let's take a closer look.

First up is F1 25, released last year. Developed by Codemasters, this entry in the long-running Formula 1 racing series earned an 8/10 from us. In our review, we said: "F1 25 is a far broader and better package than last year’s installment, and it’s comfortably the strongest the series has been since the fan favourite F1 2020."

Next is Hunt: Showdown 1896, Crytek's first-person extraction shooter that pits players against mythological monsters. Originally launched in early access in 2018, the game received a 7.5/10 in our review. The PS5 version also includes a battle royale mode. And don't worry if you haven't played the previous 1895 games in the series—you'll catch on quickly.

Finally, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is available for PS4 and PS5. This third-person shooter offers both local and online co-op and continues the story of the voxel Earth after the events of the first game. Brothers from around the world reunite to face a new, unprecedented threat that could tear the Earth apart once again.
