Tom Holland and Zendaya, stars of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, are huge fans of Insomniac Games' Spider-Man titles. In a recent chat with IGN Benelux, the duo was asked if the games inspired any scenes in the upcoming film. While they didn't give a direct answer, they made their admiration clear.
"We love the games, they're absolutely sensational," Holland said.
Zendaya added, "I'm not great at video games. I get frustrated because I want to do it myself, but he tries to help."
The pair then shared how Zendaya struggled with a section in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, where Mary Jane Watson is taken over by a symbiote and becomes Scream. She had so much trouble that Holland had to step in.
This isn't Holland's first praise for the series. During Spider-Man: No Way Home promotion in 2021, he revealed Sony gave him a PS5, and he loved playing the game. He even noted the team copied a move from the game—Peter flipping Green Goblin through the air with webs—into the film.
After their recent comments, Insomniac Games invited the pair for a studio tour. Whether it happens is uncertain, but it could boost promotion for the Brand New Day suit coming to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 next month.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31.
