Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis appears to be facing a release date delay, following the game's brief appearance as a preorder listing on Amazon ahead of Sony's State of Play showcase. Wario64 shared images on X/Twitter of now-removed listings for the game, showing a $59.99 price tag and a February 10, 2027 release date. No official explanation has been given yet, but it's worth noting that GTA 6 is set to launch in November, which will undoubtedly dominate attention and threaten the success of any AAA game releasing around that time. Tomb Raider will now go head-to-head with Microsoft's Fable, which was also recently delayed to February 2027. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider and was originally slated for release later this year. Developer Crystal Dynamics is also working on a brand-new Tomb Raider title, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, expected sometime in 2027. Alix Wilton Regan voices Lara Croft in both games, replacing Camilla Luddington, who portrayed the character in the Survivor Trilogy. In March, Crystal Dynamics underwent its fourth round of layoffs in 12 months, though the Embracer-owned studio stated it remains 'fully committed to the future development' of the Lara Croft franchise. The upcoming Tomb Raider games are published by Amazon, which is also producing a Tomb Raider TV show for Prime Video starring Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner. State of Play is just around the corner—join our live blog for all the announcements and trailers.
