Just before the official unveiling of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, another leak has surfaced online, this time showing part of the game's trailer. The clip offers our first glimpse of actual gameplay, featuring the pirate protagonist Edward Kenway, the infamous Blackbeard, intense naval battles, and plenty of explosive action. Fans are already drawing comparisons between this new version and the original 2013 release to spot the differences.

The brief footage showcases Edward in his classic stance with cutlasses ready, followed by a scene on deck with Blackbeard peering through a telescope. We also see Adéwalé rallying the crew to load the cannons of the Jackdaw before Edward takes the helm, kicking off a ship-to-ship skirmish. Notably, Matt Ryan, the original voice actor for Kenway, can be heard reprising his role, confirming earlier hints from the actor about his return.

A specific shot of Edward and Blackbeard has caught fans' attention, with many praising the significantly enhanced character models and lighting in Resynced. This visual upgrade is hardly surprising, given that the original game debuted over a decade ago. On social media, one enthusiast remarked, "At least graphically, Black Flag Resynced looks really faithful. I fear I'm getting excited." Another added, "It doesn't seem like a simple remaster either. It looks like we're getting a pretty decent, fun remake."

Yesterday, Ubisoft announced plans to fully reveal Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced this week, after years of persistent leaks. The publisher even joked about the project being the "worst kept secret" in gaming—a label that seems more accurate than ever. The Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Worldwide Reveal Showcase is scheduled for Thursday, April 23 at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern / 5pm UK time. Be sure to tune in for the complete reveal, and stay tuned to IGN for all the latest details.
