Ubisoft has announced 'Heredis,' a 'spectacular new stage experience' set in the Assassin's Creed universe, launching later this year. The two-hour performance features circus artists, acrobats, and dancers from Les 7 Doights (The 7 Fingers), delivering a 'high-energy' show with 'urban parkour, choreographed combat, and physical feats within large-scale immersive environments drawn from Assassin's Creed games,' according to a press release today. Plot details are scarce, but artwork shows a character resembling Desmond leaping against an Ancient Greek backdrop from Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The show follows a young man searching for his missing father; a mysterious letter on his 25th birthday leads him to the HEREDIS program, sparking a journey across centuries. While the story may be original, the artwork and description hint at a connection to Desmond Miles, the series' original modern-day protagonist, who fathered a child before his death in Assassin's Creed 3. The child, Elijah, appears in the canon comic series Assassin's Creed: Uprising. Although Elijah won't turn 25 until 2030, the franchise's current 'present day' storyline is set decades ahead, allowing for a young adult Elijah. This stage show could explore the search for Desmond through his now-adult son, weaving fan-favorite locations and characters into a fresh narrative. 'Heredis' debuts on December 3 at Théâtre Maisonneuve in Montreal, then kicks off a world tour in 2027 starting January 21 at Casino de Paris in France.
