Ubisoft has criticized the posting of a leaked screenshot from its unannounced multiplayer Assassin's Creed game, which was altered using AI. Last night, leaker j0nathan shared an image claiming to show Assassin's Creed Invictus, the franchise's multiplayer spinoff announced in 2022 but never shown. The screenshot depicts a character in historical clothing in an arena, with unfinished gray blocks indicating early development. Ubisoft's official Assassin's Creed account called it "misinformation," stating the image was heavily altered, likely with AI. J0nathan then admitted to using AI to enhance colors and posted an allegedly unedited version, which shows differences in lighting and textures. He claimed he didn't want to give the game bad publicity due to its poor state. Fans have criticized the leak, questioning why AI was used and noting it damages credibility. Assassin's Creed Invictus is one of several projects in development, including Assassin's Creed Shadows and Hexe.
