Grand Theft Auto 5 actor Ned Luke is celebrating after an online swatter was sentenced to four years in prison. Luke, who voices Michael De Santa in Rockstar's hit game, frequently streams himself playing GTA Online and has been targeted by swatting attempts multiple times. Swatting involves making hoax calls to police to trigger an armed response at a streamer's address, often based on false claims of violence. Luke's personal address was leaked, leading to at least four swatting incidents. However, progress has been made in catching the culprits. On X/Twitter, Luke shared a letter from the U.S. Department of Justice confirming a perpetrator was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, plus a $200 fine. Luke commented, "Don't drop the soap in the shower douchebag. Won't be swatting anyone anytime soon... and they're coming for the ones he ratted out as well." He ended his post with five star emojis, referencing GTA's highest wanted level. Luke has been swatted so often that during a December 2025 police visit, two officers arrived knowing it was likely a hoax. Footage shows them and Luke exchanging Christmas greetings before he returns to playing GTA 5. By sharing the sentencing, Luke hopes to deter future swatters. He looks forward to a quieter time streaming GTA 6, which releases on November 19.
