IO Interactive has partnered with Saber Interactive to release Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new bundle of classic Hitman games optimized for modern consoles.
The announcement came during IOI's recent showcase. As the Copenhagen-based studio rides high on the success of its newly released 007 First Light, it's also looking to revitalize some of the games that shaped its legacy.
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered includes enhanced versions of Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. IOI teamed up with remaster specialist Saber Interactive to deliver new visuals, an instant graphics toggle, photo mode, and more on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at an unspecified date in 2027.
"Discover the origins of the world’s deadliest assassin with the trilogy that defined the Hitman series, remastered for modern platforms while preserving the systems, tone, and player-driven freedom that made the franchise iconic," an official description from IOI reads. "Whether you’re reliving these thrilling contracts or suiting up for the first time, Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is the definitive way to experience the beginnings of Agent 47. With multiple paths and puzzles in every mission, you'll be free to employ a diverse set of tools to fulfill each contract."
Notably, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 are missing from the launch lineup. IOI and Saber did not explain the omission or confirm if the bundle will ever arrive on those platforms. However, IOI didn't leave Nintendo fans empty-handed, promising to bring a new Contracts mode to Hitman: Absolution on the original Switch "very soon," with a proper Switch 2 upgrade arriving this summer.
