Sony has officially announced a major PlayStation State of Play broadcast set to air this week, promising over an hour of exciting news and reveals. The event will showcase the latest updates from PlayStation Studios' internal development teams.
The livestream is scheduled for this Thursday, February 12, starting at 2 PM Pacific Time, 5 PM Eastern Time, and 10 PM UK time. As always, IGN will provide live coverage throughout the event.
Sony has indicated the broadcast will last "60+ minutes," hinting at a substantial presentation for eager fans. The big question remains: what surprises does PlayStation have in store?
Looking back, Sony's previous major State of Play in September 2025 gave fans an extensive look at Marvel's Wolverine, currently in development by Insomniac Games—the studio behind PlayStation's acclaimed Spider-Man titles. That event also featured Saros, the upcoming project from Returnal developer Housemarque, alongside third-party titles like Battlefield 6 and Nioh 3.
Following that, a more focused State of Play in November 2025 highlighted Japanese games, revealing titles such as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the Elden Ring Nightreign expansion The Forsaken Hollows, and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.
Fans are particularly excited to see more of Wolverine and Saros, with hopes for a release date announcement for Wolverine. There's also anticipation for updates on Bungie's long-awaited Marathon, which is finally launching on March 5—less than a month away.
While Saros is confirmed for an April 30 release, Wolverine is slated for the second half of this year. Given Grand Theft Auto VI's November 16 launch, Wolverine will likely arrive earlier to avoid overlap. Recently, Insomniac Games teased a potential appearance by Daredevil in the Wolverine game.
Upcoming third-party PS5 titles include Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories 3 and Pragmata—the latter recently featured in Nintendo's Partner Direct—Square Enix's Life is Strange Reunion, IO Interactive's 007 First Light, and Warner Bros. Games' Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
This week's State of Play means all three major platform holders will have hosted announcement broadcasts within the first six weeks of 2026. Nintendo fans are still hoping for a dedicated first-party Nintendo Direct to reveal more about the company's own games, possibly including a new 3D Mario title.
For now, stay tuned to IGN for comprehensive coverage of all the news and reveals from this week's State of Play, coming in just a few days.
