Embark Studios has rolled out update 1.15.0 for Arc Raiders, introducing a new PvE-focused event and fresh rewards, while also addressing a notorious duplication glitch. The patch notes, available on the official website, reveal a substantial update ahead of the Shrouded Sky content drop in February. While players await new Arc threats and the Raider Deck, this update revives a beloved event and adds a new mode with exclusive cosmetics.

The highlight is the Shared Watch event, launching tomorrow and running until February 24. In this limited-time mode, players team up with others to battle Arc machines, earning merits that unlock rewards such as tools like a Vita Spray or acoustic guitar, and permanent items like the Slugger set or a rooster-sized helmet for Scrappy. Embark emphasizes that merits cannot be earned from PvP, making this a purely PvE experience. As the studio stated, 'The Shared Watch is an annual holiday that reminds us of the true enemy, by celebrating those that look out for their fellow Raiders.'

Additionally, the winter Cold Snap event returns as a map condition, and the Trailblazer weapon has been nerfed to reduce damage against large Arc like Leapers and Bastions, with its wall-penetration ability removed. The update includes various bug fixes, but a key change came via a surprise hotfix shortly after launch, aimed at eliminating the item duplication exploit. Embark warned on X/Twitter that players who abused this glitch to hoard items or generate quick cash may face penalties, noting, 'Nothing beats earning your loot the hard way.'

Looking ahead, Embark continues with its Escalation roadmap, promising new map conditions, Arc threats, a map, and a large Arc by late April. The next Expedition starts on February 25, with adjustments for those dissatisfied with the initial rank reset. In a recent interview, CEO Patrick Söderlund discussed the post-launch plans, anti-cheat measures, and strategies to support PvE players, highlighting how Arc Raiders' success has positively impacted the studio. Full patch notes are available for players to review.
