The developer behind Stellar Blade is exploring ways to bring the game to additional platforms, hinting at a possible launch on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. In the Q&A section of its latest financial report, Korean studio Shift Up revealed that Stellar Blade has become "a steady, long-tail IP, supported by sustained sales momentum and strong user reception since launch." The team is currently "reviewing platform expansion beyond PS5 and PC to broaden audience reach," which is expected to "introduce the title to new players and gradually build anticipation for the next chapter in the series." That next chapter is Stellar Blade 2, which is already in development. Shift Up anticipates that 2026 will be a year where more players experience the existing game while excitement grows for the franchise's future. Additionally, Shift Up is collaborating on Project Spirits with publisher Level Infinite, describing it as the studio's "next flagship title." The project is advancing "steadily under strategic collaboration with a global partner" and is being developed as a next-generation title with a focus on high quality and global scalability. More details about Project Spirits, including its "direction and key features," are expected to be revealed "within the year." In other news, Shift Up has a tradition of rewarding its staff generously. Last month, the entire team received bonuses and gifts worth approximately $4,000, including Apple AirPods Max, an Apple Watch, and a cash bonus of around $3,400. Previous years have seen staff gifted with a PS5 Pro, a Nintendo Switch 2 (when Stellar Blade sold 3 million copies), pre-paid credit cards worth about $6,800, and iPhone 14s. These bonuses are part of the studio's strategy to retain and motivate talent. Furthermore, Shift Up's CEO was recently honored with the Presidential Commendation at the Korean Content Awards for his contributions to the industry through games like Goddess of Victory: Nikke and Stellar Blade.
