Monster Hunter Wilds has rolled out patch 1.041, delivering a substantial update packed with new content and fixes. To celebrate the game's first anniversary, players can enjoy a login bonus and rotating past Festivals of Accord until March 18. Additionally, the update introduces the Arch-Tempered Arkveld, 10-star Arc-Tempered monsters, and a special collaboration with the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3, set to launch next month. An anniversary event will also make all previous awards and quests available again.
In a recent video commemorating the open-world adventure's milestone, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto hinted at a 'large-scale' expansion slated for later this year. He compared it to Monster Hunter World's Iceborne expansion but remained tight-lipped on specifics, emphasizing that this will be the 'final update' for the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds has faced some challenges, with Title Update 4 in late last year bringing numerous gameplay and balance adjustments, CPU/GPU enhancements, load reductions, and optimizations for PC, including new options and presets to ease processing demands. A development roadmap from December outlined ongoing efforts to resolve issues affecting the PC version.
Players must install this update to access DLC and online multiplayer. Steam users are recommended to update their drivers to NVIDIA GeForce 581.57 or newer, or AMD Radeon 25.9.1 or newer. The team cautioned that AMD Radeon drivers versions 25.10.2 and higher may cause issues on some PCs with graphics cards like the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT/7800 XT.
