Epic Games has enlisted Ben Starr, known for his role as Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, to voice a pivotal character in Fortnite. This move places him alongside high-profile actors like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Brie Larson, and Joel McHale, who have previously lent their talents to the game.
Starr gained recognition for his portrayal of the charismatic hero Verso, earning him a second nomination for Best Performer at last year's Game Awards and an upcoming BAFTA Game Awards nod. His voice work also includes roles as Clive in Final Fantasy 16 and Prometheus in Hades 2.
In Fortnite, Starr will take on the role of The Visitor, a key NPC from the Heroic Seven—a group of intergalactic saviors central to the game's live events. The Visitor, who first appeared in Fortnite's inaugural 2018 rocket launch event, has remained largely silent until now. He is set to re-enter the battle royale storyline and speak later this month.
The Heroic Seven includes other notable members: The Foundation (voiced by Johnson), The Scientist (McHale), The Paradigm (Larson), The Origin (Rahul Kohli), The Imagined (Cherami Leigh), and The Order (Laura Bailey). After being absent from the narrative since 2022, the team was reintroduced following last year's Zero Hour finale, which also recapped the story leading into Chapter 7.
Starr's version of The Visitor is a fresh take, originating from the OG mode—a multiversal reality featuring Fortnite's original map. This iteration will emerge post the OG rocket event to aid in the ongoing saga. Recent datamined dialogue from a Fortnite update confirms Starr's involvement, and fans will also welcome the return of AMIE, the Seven's AI assistant, likely voiced again by Erica Lindbeck.
On Twitter/X, Starr expressed his excitement: "I'm joining Fortnite as The Visitor. I'm so excited to bring back this iconic member of The Seven. I imagine I'll be very normal about it."
