Hideo Kojima has officially announced a range of exciting new features for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set to roll out later this week. Players can look forward to a challenging new difficulty mode called To The Wilder, replayable boss battles such as Neil, and previously cut live-action cutscenes that will now be included.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is scheduled to launch on PC on March 19, nearly a year after its initial release on PS5. While Kojima had hinted at new content for all platforms, he has now detailed the specifics. In an interview on the Japanese radio show Spacewalk, as shared by Okami13 on X/Twitter (via MP1st), the update will also introduce new items, gameplay tweaks based on player feedback, additional nightmares for Sam, and a new Chiral Cat for his room.

PS5 players will benefit from a 21:9 ultrawide mode, matching the PC version, which offers uncapped framerates, ultrawide monitor support, and 32:9 Super UltraWidescreen options, all rendered in 4K resolution. Although not officially confirmed, the update is expected to release around the same time as the PC debut.

In our review, we praised Death Stranding 2: On the Beach as a 'triumphant sequel' that lives up to its predecessor's legacy, with IGN awarding it an 'Amazing' 9/10 score.
