Resident Evil Requiem has just received a significant update, bringing a highly anticipated photo mode and various other improvements to the game. Capcom had previously confirmed that photo mode would be the first major post-launch addition, though the release date was kept under wraps. Players can now download this update on PC and consoles, making it immediately accessible.

Accessed through the pause menu, the photo mode in Requiem offers extensive customization options. You can tweak settings such as field of view, foreground and background blur, focus distance, character pose, expression, eye position, brightness, contrast, vignette, bloom, lens distortion, and chromatic aberration. Additionally, it includes fun features like frames, stickers, and a variety of filters to enhance your screenshots.

Beyond photo mode, today's patch also enhances character expressions in certain cutscenes, with adjustments made to better convey emotions. This might make moments like Grace's predicament even more impactful.

Looking ahead, Capcom has more content planned for Resident Evil Requiem. A full story expansion is in the works, along with a "mini game" set to launch in May, which many fans speculate could be a new version of the beloved Mercenaries mode. While details on the story add-on remain scarce, there's hope it might feature Ada Wong, Leon's complex ally (and possibly now his wife?!), though Capcom is keeping specifics under wraps.

Director Koshi Nakanishi previously hinted at the expansion, saying, "In this story, we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We're hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you'll look forward to it. Thank you again for all your support!"

For now, players can enjoy the new features, and full patch notes are available on platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store.
