Embark Studios has unveiled a comprehensive look at the upcoming Flashpoint update for Arc Raiders, detailing the new Vaporizer Arc unit, the Close Scrutiny map condition, and other additions. The information was shared today via a blog post on the studio's official website, offering a detailed preview ahead of its launch on March 31 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S players.
Following February's Shrouded Sky update, which introduced flying Firefly and rolling Comet enemies, Flashpoint adds just one new Arc: the Vaporizer. This drone-like enemy uses a laser instead of fire and tends to travel in groups, posing a fresh challenge for Raiders in the Rust Belt. For those who enjoy looting indoors, the Shredder—a shotgun-burst enemy that has been roaming Stella Montis since late last year—will now appear in new areas starting tomorrow, including Blue Gate, Buried City, Spaceport, and Dam Battlegrounds under certain conditions.
As the Hurricanes from Shrouded Sky begin to fade, Flashpoint introduces the Close Scrutiny Arc Operation map condition. This high-risk, high-reward event features the heavily guarded Arc Assessor, which drops rare components that players will want to secure. Additionally, the update includes two new weapons: the Dolabra Energy Shotgun and Canto Sub-machine gun, along with the Surge Coil deployable device that electrifies the surrounding area for protection. The High-Gain Antenna Player Project offers another way to earn rewards.
Flashpoint also brings gameplay tweaks, such as new quests, store bundles, and adjustments to Scrappy and crafting. Players can now feed Scrappy specific items for more targeted resource gathering, while the crafting system has been streamlined to reduce wait times between Raids. A new cosmetic set, the Wasp Hunter, is available for $20, featuring an outfit with four color variants, an Oxygen Tank backpack, a helmet for Scrappy, a new Raider Tool, and 2400 Raider Tokens. More packs—the Brigade Set, Vanguard Set, and Nascosto Set—will launch throughout April.
Flashpoint is the third of four major expansions teased in this year's roadmap, following Headwinds in January and Shrouded Sky in February, with Riven Tides set for April. The upcoming update is expected to be Embark's biggest yet, promising a new map, a large Arc threat, another map condition, and an expedition window. While awaiting Flashpoint, players can read about recent patches targeting Il Toro, insights from Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund on AI voice lines, and updates on Bungie and Sony's Marathon.
