Microsoft has officially announced the lineup of games exiting Xbox Game Pass this month, with Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V notably among them. According to information displayed on the Xbox PC app, both the Enhanced and Legacy editions of GTA V will be removed from the service on April 15, 2026. This timing aligns logically, as the game rejoined Game Pass exactly one year earlier on April 15, 2025, when the Enhanced version became accessible through PC Game Pass. This suggests Microsoft secured GTA V for Game Pass under a 12-month agreement. However, GTA V is not the sole title departing this month.

The removal of GTA V from Xbox Game Pass coincides with an anticipated increase in marketing for GTA VI, which Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has indicated will intensify this summer. GTA VI is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with no PC version announced yet. The pricing for GTA VI remains uncertain, with speculation that Rockstar might charge up to $100, though there is no concrete evidence to support this. Zelnick has, however, explicitly denied rumors that GTA VI will launch as a digital-only title initially. In related news, some PlayStation users have recently been tricking friends by adding GTA VI to their Recently Played lists.
