20th Century Studios has officially acquired the rights to develop a feature film based on the wildly popular Roblox game, 99 Nights in the Forest. Despite being just over a year old, the game has skyrocketed to become the seventh most-played title in Roblox's history. Drawing clear inspiration from the Five Nights at Freddy's series, it challenges players to survive 99 terrifying nights in a haunted forest, battling sinister creatures while attempting to rescue four missing children.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the game boasts an astonishing 26 billion lifetime visits and has reached a peak of 14.2 million concurrent players. These staggering figures likely influenced 20th Century Studios' decision to make this their first major video game adaptation project since Disney's acquisition of the studio in 2019.

While no additional creative team or producers have been announced yet, the game's original developers—Alex Kieft, Cameron Angland, and Matthew Hufton—will serve as executive producers on the film. In a joint statement, the creators expressed their excitement: "Disney and 20th Century films were integral parts of our childhood, so partnering with these iconic studios feels like a dream come true. We're thrilled to expand the world of 99 Nights in the Forest onto a larger platform and deliver fresh scares through a new medium."
