Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has achieved a remarkable milestone, now boasting 12 million players. Publisher Focus Entertainment is celebrating this success, with a spokesperson reflecting, "A couple years ago, we had great hopes for this project. Today, it has surpassed even our wildest dreams." It's important to clarify that this figure represents player count, not sales, as the game's recent inclusion in video game subscription services has significantly boosted its accessibility. Despite this distinction, the Saber Interactive-developed third-person action title has performed exceptionally well commercially, exceeding all expectations. Development on Space Marine 3 is already underway, even as updates for Space Marine 2 continue to roll out. In a recent interview with IGN, Saber development chief Tim Willits addressed concerns that focus might shift entirely to the sequel, stating, "No, we actually just released a big update and it's still going strong," referring to the Techmarine update. He added, "Were we at number four on the top sales? So it's still doing great for us. And we just released a big update. And like World War Z, we're still making content for that, while the team obviously works on Space Marine 3."
