In a surprising partnership, Square Enix has joined forces with Filipino fast-food giant Jollibee to bring exclusive content to Final Fantasy XIV, both in the virtual world and in real life. During the latest Live Letter from the Producer, which detailed the upcoming Patch 7.5, FFXIV director and producer Naoki Yoshida unveiled the collaboration and its offerings. While fans can enjoy a six-piece Chickenjoy or combo meal in specially designed FFXIV-themed packaging, the standout new item is a blue raspberry drink with clear boba. Additionally, a limited-time apparel line featuring t-shirts and sweaters is available. The highlight, however, is the exclusive in-game emote called "Eat Chicken," where characters pull out a bucket of chicken and start munching away.

The collaboration runs from April 21 to May 31. During this period, the Anaheim, California location near the FFXIV Fan Fest (scheduled for April 24 and 25) will host a pop-up event with exclusive stickers. To obtain the Eat Chicken emote, players must either buy a qualifying meal at a participating Jollibee in the US or Canada or purchase clothing from Complex.com once it's available. After submitting order details on the Jollibee redemption page, an item code for the emote will be emailed and can be redeemed via the Mog Station.

On stream, Yoshida, along with FFXIV composer Masayoshi Soken and community manager Toshio Murouchi, showcased the apparel. The collection includes a crew neck sweater and t-shirt with the Jollibee mascot riding a chocobo, plus a hooded sweatshirt and t-shirt depicting Moogles enjoying Jollibee dishes. Each item bears the phrase "Hear...feel...think...Jollibee" on the back, a playful nod to Hydaelyn's words. These will be sold on Complex.com.

Two FFXIV-themed meals are offered: one box meal with a chicken sandwich (original or spicy), regular fries, a peach mango pie, a one-piece Chickenjoy with gravy, and the blue raspberry aether drink with crystal boba (or pineapple quencher in Canada); and a six-piece Chickenjoy meal with three of the drinks. The blue raspberry boba drink, designed to resemble FFXIV's aetherytes, is the only new item, and these meals qualify for the emote code.

The chicken bucket and meal box feature unique artwork for the collaboration, including a disclaimer: "No chocobos were harmed in the making of this meal." This is a humorous touch, given the box art shows the beloved baby Alpha holding a drumstick.

As a Filipino who grew up visiting Jollibee in National City and a longtime FFXIV fan, this crossover is incredibly exciting. It's a wild moment to witness such a collaboration during a Live Letter. For more details, FFXIV Patch 7.5 launches on April 28, and coverage from the Fan Fest will reveal final patch details and hints about the next expansion.
