The BAFTA Game Awards 2026 celebrated major victories for titles like Dispatch, Ghost of Yōtei, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, but the evening was also marked by unexpected twists in classic BAFTA fashion. For instance, Ghost of Yōtei's win for Best Music over Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 came as a genuine shock. Daredevil star Charlie Cox missed the chance to praise the French motion capture performer behind Clair Obscur's Gustave, something he likely would have done if he had won Best Performer in a Supporting Role—instead, that award went to Jeffrey Wright for his role as Chase in Dispatch. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 faced further setbacks, losing Best Narrative to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and the New Intellectual Property category to Microsoft's South of Midnight.

However, Sandfall Interactive had reasons to celebrate, as the French studio secured Best Debut Game. Jennifer English, fresh off her big win at The Game Awards 2025, continued her streak by taking home Best Performer in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And, of course, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the night's top honor: Best Game, a result that seemed almost inevitable.

In other categories, Rebellion's Atomfall won British Game, Hello Games' No Man's Sky was honored as Evolving Game, and Embark's Arc Raiders triumphed in the Multiplayer category.

Social media buzzed with highlights from the ceremony: The Arc Raiders team accepted the Multiplayer BAFTA with GooglePlay, the No Man's Sky team took the stage for the Evolving Game award, Blue Prince won for Game Design, and Atomfall celebrated its British Game victory.
