An unannounced remaster of a Tales Of game has appeared on the European rating board PEGI. Tales of Eternia Remastered has yet to be officially revealed by publisher Bandai Namco, but according to PEGI (via Gematsu), a remaster of the 2000 PSP title is on the way. If you don't remember this entry, that's understandable—Tales of Eternia was released as Tales of Destiny II outside Japan (which is different from the actual Tales of Destiny 2 from 2002). Originally launching in 2000, the JRPG begins with a mysterious stranger delivering an ominous message, and you learn you're chosen to defend the defenseless. It later inspired a 13-episode anime series. Interestingly, despite being a PlayStation exclusive before, PEGI only lists Tales of Eternia Remastered for Nintendo Switch. Whether this is a mistake, an incomplete listing, or evidence of exclusivity remains unclear. Stay tuned—hopefully Bandai Namco will confirm soon. The game received a PEGI 12 rating for "depictions of non-realistic looking violence towards human and fantasy characters" and mild language. Several Tales Of games have already been remastered, including Tales of Berseria Remastered, Tales of Graces f Remastered, and Tales of Symphonia Remastered. While many fans are thrilled to see Eternia join the list, some are skeptical, with one commenter saying Bandai Namco should "slow down these remasters and put some actual effort in," adding "The Berseria remaster was a joke." It's unclear what modern features are included, such as the ability to toggle enemy encounters, which are staples of recent remasters. Last year, Bandai Namco announced a Tales of Remastered Program, starting with Tales of Graces f (though Tales of Symphonia Remastered released earlier). At the time, we asked producer Yuki Ishikawa about a potential remaster of the popular Tales of the Abyss. He replied, "If [a Tales of the Abyss remaster] could happen and I could share that joy with the rest of the fans, that’s something I’ll work hard towards."
