Microsoft has revealed the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for May 2026, and it's packed with heavy hitters. According to an Xbox Wire post, the month is headlined by Playground Games' highly anticipated Forza Horizon 6, which launches day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on May 19 as a Microsoft first-party title. But that's not all—other major releases include Mixtape, the next game from the developer of The Artful Escape, arriving day one, and the troubled but still eagerly awaited Subnautica 2 on May 14. The day-one releases keep coming with Outbound, a cozy open-world exploration game from Square Glade Games, on May 11, and Call of the Elder Gods, the Lovecraftian narrative puzzle adventure sequel to 2020's critically acclaimed Call of the Sea from Out of the Blue Games, on May 12.

This announcement is the first since Microsoft reduced the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month and PC Game Pass from $16.49 to $13.99 per month. The price cut is one of the early major moves by new Xbox boss Asha Sharma, who took over from Phil Spencer. But the changes don't stop there. Microsoft has also confirmed that Call of Duty will no longer launch day one on Game Pass starting with this year's title; instead, new Call of Duty games will arrive on the service a year later. Additionally, Microsoft is testing a new Starter Edition tier of Xbox Game Pass for Discord Nitro subscribers.

As usual, several games are set to leave Game Pass this month.
