Fresh from Warhammer Skulls, it's been confirmed that the acclaimed strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is getting a sequel focused on the Deathwatch. Developed by Complex Games, the studio behind the original, and published by Frontier, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch is slated for PC and consoles, though no release window has been announced yet. Check out the debut trailer below.
In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Deathwatch is a specialized Space Marine Chapter dedicated to combating alien threats. They are unique in that they consist mostly of veteran Space Marines from other Chapters, with members typically wearing their original Chapter's colors on their right pauldron and the trademark Deathwatch color on the left.
The new game introduces several significant changes and improvements. For one, you can now recruit agents from the Inquisition and Astra Militarum into your squad. The enemy roster has also expanded: while Daemonhunters pitted the Grey Knights against the Death Guard and Nurgle's forces, Deathwatch will see players facing off against the Tyranids, Orks, and T'au.
There are nine playable classes this time around. New units include the Redemptor Dreadnought, Scout Sentinel, and Leman Russ tank. Additionally, a Skirmish mode has been added, offering fully customizable standalone battles for total battlefield control.
