Embark Studios has revealed the first look at the Riven Tides map, the Arc Turbine enemy, and everything else in what appears to be the biggest Arc Raiders update yet. The studio behind the popular sci-fi extraction shooter shared details about the new seaside content in a blog post today, breaking down the Riven Tides update to show players that the months-long wait for the new map will be worth it when Raiders head topside tomorrow, April 28. The highlight of the April update is undoubtedly the new location: Riven Tides. As fans guessed, this second post-launch map (added since the October 2025 launch) takes Raiders to sandy shores with shady palm trees. The first trailer also showcased the dusty water slides and abandoned dining areas of the Hotel Panorama Azzurro, along with its beach, tennis courts, and harbor. While the footage showed returning Arc enemies like the Vaporizer, Hornet drones, and Shredder, veteran players will notice an unfamiliar hovering foe: the cone-shaped Arc Turbine. This marks a departure from previous enemy types, which were typically small-to-medium drones or ball-shaped guards. Players will need to watch for this larger enemy using defensive measures from the sky. It's unclear if the Turbine will be exclusive to Riven Tides or appear on other maps. However, the new Beachbombing minor map condition is confirmed to be exclusive to the new location, allowing Raiders to scavenge for loot along the coast using the Dockmaster's Detector. The developers also revealed the Last Resort event (April 28 to May 25), where players can earn rewards by gaining XP and collecting model ships. The latest Project, the Avian Alarm Project, offers rewards including 250 Raider Tokens and a Bird House backpack attachment. As previously announced, the next Expedition Window opens April 28 and has been reworked to award bonus skill points for dealing damage instead of stash value—a once-controversial change that was quickly revised. Players can sign up until May 11. Arc Raiders Riven Tides launches as a free update on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S tomorrow. PS5 Pro users will also get PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for improved visuals. For more, check out our 9/10 review and our interview with Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund.
