Pearl Abyss has announced Crimson Desert Enhanced, a new version of the game that adds extra story elements and is available to all players at no cost. Simply update the game to version 2.00.00, and you'll get access to Crimson Desert Enhanced. To clarify, this is just a fresh patch for the existing game, but one that Pearl Abyss considers substantial enough to warrant a new title for the full experience.
Crimson Desert Enhanced introduces new cutscenes and story moments throughout the main questline, along with voiceover support in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.
Pearl Abyss had previously promised a summer roadmap of content, including improvements to the core narrative—a common criticism at launch. The Enhanced edition also includes all existing updates, which have been frequent, with new additions arriving every few weeks.
This update comes ahead of the game's first paid DLC, expected later this year, and a Nintendo Switch 2 release, anticipated in early 2027. The studio is also researching multiplayer modes and potential sequels, following the game's breakout success.
Crimson Desert launched on March 19 and was an immediate hit, selling over 6 million copies in less than three months.
