Crimson Desert's Latest Patch Solidifies Its Transformation Into a Full-Fledged Pet Simulator

Anyone following Pearl Abyss's steady stream of updates for Crimson Desert knows the developer has been doubling down on the pet mechanics. Recent patches have expanded how pets work, refined the systems around them, increased the number of animals that can be tamed, and even added new interaction animations.

Now, Crimson Desert's newest patch cements its identity as a true pet simulator by introducing challenges that let you register up to 100 pets. That's a massive leap, and it's sure to have players building sizable animal armies—if that's their thing, of course.

There are some limitations, though. You can only summon up to 50 pets at camp, even if you have more than 50 registered. Still, 50 pets running around... good luck keeping track!

But that's not all that's exciting about update 1.11.00 (full patch notes from the Crimson Desert website are below). It also lets Damiane and Oongka—the two secondary playable characters who are now nearly on par with Kliff thanks to post-launch changes—equip the Mining Drill and Chainsaw.

And here's an interesting new system: shopkeepers will start collecting and reselling lost rare equipment. Lost gear from treasure chests, quests, and other sources will be sold at a higher price than its original value, but it's great for convenience.

Pearl Abyss just announced that Crimson Desert has sold 6 million copies—a huge milestone less than three months after release. The developer has been releasing game-changing updates almost weekly since launch, improving player sentiment. In fact, the game has done so well that Pearl Abyss paid staff a performance bonus worth approximately $3,400.

This news came on the heels of Pearl Abyss revealing a summer content roadmap and confirming that DLC is in development.
