Crimson Desert has officially launched on all platforms, accompanied by a day one update that brings substantial improvements, balance adjustments, and numerous fixes to the game. Developer Pearl Abyss strongly advises players to install this patch to ensure the optimal gaming experience.
In the detailed patch notes released on the Crimson Desert website, Pearl Abyss has outlined update 1.00.02. This update is currently available in its entirety on PC through Steam, while Xbox, Epic Games Store, and Mac App Store users will receive it at a later date.
For PlayStation players, the update is being rolled out in two segments: Patch 1.00.01, which is already downloadable, and Patch 1.00.02, which will follow. Notably, the update introduces a new tutorial quest at the beginning of Chapter 3, enhances usability for systems like Housing mode, and allows for faster skipping of recently viewed cutscenes. Additionally, it includes balance tweaks for specific bosses, along with refinements and fixes to animations, character movements, lip-sync, visual clipping, visual effects, and voice acting for NPCs and animals.
Pearl Abyss has also acknowledged known issues, stating, "We are dedicated to delivering a more stable and enjoyable gameplay experience for our players, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these matters."
While awaiting the update, fans can explore IGN's ongoing Crimson Desert review, their launch interview with Will Powers, and a comprehensive PC performance review of the game.
