BLACKPINK's Jisoo has confirmed that she drew inspiration from Resident Evil's Ada Wong for the music video of her solo track, 'Addicted.' The song and its accompanying video premiered over Halloween weekend, and Jisoo sports several different looks throughout. One outfit in particular caught the attention of fans due to its striking resemblance to a certain Resident Evil character.

At the start of the video, Jisoo appears with a black bob and a red bodycon dress — a style that is practically Ada Wong's signature, as she wears some variation of it in every game she appears in. Fans quickly noticed the similarities and asked the K-pop star on her own app if the look was intentional. "Red outfit + short hair look is totally Ada Wong from Resident Evil," one fan wrote.

Surprisingly, Jisoo confirmed that it was indeed intentional. "I love Biohazard (Resident Evil) sooo much, so I wanted to copy it," she replied.

Jisoo has been open about her love for Resident Evil; she discussed the series on Hot Ones earlier this year, saying she was "addicted" to the games. "It's fast-paced," she explained. "Something will suddenly pop out at you, so you have to be quick and process it all and take care of the situation. That's why it's able to hold my attention, and time just flies right by."

Interestingly, Jisoo isn't the only K-pop star to be compared to Ada Wong recently; in August, Babymonster's Asa received similar comments from fans after posting photos of herself on social media wearing a black bob and a red dress, leading her fanbase to coin the cute portmanteau 'Asa Wong.' While Asa hasn't yet responded to these remarks, Jisoo is an unabashed fan of the games, so much so that she made sure Ada was represented in her latest song.

In other Resident Evil news, Zach Cregger, who directed the series' most recent movie adaptation, said he would still like to be involved in some capacity if a sequel gets made, though not as a director. Thus far, it's unclear whether another Resi movie is in the works, but given that Capcom has doubled down on its plans to continue expanding its IP with merch, new content, and movies, it's possible that we get another look at Raccoon City — especially given how successful the first film was at the box office.
