Indie developer 3DClouds has revealed an exciting partnership with the FIA Formula E World Championship, bringing a fully licensed expansion to their upcoming 2025 racing title, Formula Legends. The expansion, titled 'Formula E: Electric Evolution,' is scheduled to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms on April 30, 2026, with a Nintendo release to follow at a later date.
This expansion will immerse players in the world of Formula E, featuring all the official manufacturers, drivers, and teams, along with six real-world tracks from the championship: Berlin, Tokyo, London, São Paulo, Miami, and Shanghai. Staying true to Formula Legends' signature style of showcasing racing across different eras, the expansion will also include GEN1, GEN2, and GEN3 Formula E cars.
In a statement released with the announcement, 3DClouds CEO Francesco Bruschi expressed his enthusiasm: 'Having the prestigious and thrilling ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in our game Formula Legends is truly remarkable. Formula E has been an incredible partner, and integrating their drivers, teams, tracks, cars, branding, and even the iconic theme music has been a delight from start to finish. We're excited for players to experience our efforts in bringing this unique motorsport to life.'
IGN previously praised Formula Legends in their review, describing it as 'an earnest and consistently charming unlicensed homage to seven decades of F1 racing that blends elements of Art of Rally and Micro Machines.'
