Fortnite Unveils Exclusive Star Wars Skin Locked Behind Disneyland Visit

Fortnite has introduced a new exclusive Star Wars skin that can only be unlocked by visiting one of two Disney parks.

The skin, dubbed the Forsworn Trooper, is a unique in-game reward for guests experiencing the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, or Disney's Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida.

If you're planning a trip to either location soon, consider yourself lucky! The skin is yours, thanks to the deepening partnership between Disney and Epic Games, which also involves linking your Epic account with your Disney Experiences data.

But if you're not heading to these parks anytime soon... well, you're out of luck. To soften the blow, the Forsworn Trooper skin is really just a nice bonus. It features a relatively simple design, seemingly inspired by scavenged Stormtrooper armor pieces, complete with a hooded cloak and goggles. (Could that be Jonesy underneath?)

Still, for Star Wars enthusiasts or Fortnite skin collectors, Epic Games has thrown down the gauntlet to secure what could become one of the rarest Fortnite skins ever. (Though perhaps not as rare as Rue?)

For those who can't make it to Disneyland in the near term, Fortnite offers a new Star Wars adventure to enjoy solo or with friends from the comfort of your couch. Star Wars: Smuggler’s Gambit extends the Smugglers Run experience found in Disney parks, where visitors/players are split into pilots, gunners, and engineers to keep the Falcon operational.

"It seems to be a clever way to either extend your theme-park experience outside of Disneyland’s walls and into your home, or vice versa," IGN noted in our hands-on impressions of Smuggler's Gambit. "Hondo is a really great character to anchor this around, and I'd love to see Disney do more to extend the story of its theme park rides, be they Star Wars or otherwise."

Fortnite is no stranger to Star Wars collaborations, of course, with frequent crossovers between Epic Games' battle royale and the galaxy far, far away to promote Rise of Skywalker, Mandalorian and Grogu, and various Disney+ launches. Later this year, Fortnite's long-awaited Disney mode is expected to arrive, following a $1.5 billion investment in the game by Disney back in 2024. Details remain under wraps, though one report suggested it will feature extraction shooter gameplay similar to Arc Raiders.
