Even as Rockstar's parent company Take-Two seeks to unmask the leaker through legal action, the person or group known as 'CyberLeek' has released two additional GTA 6 gameplay videos. The new clips, shared on August 22, feature supercar action, an armed robbery, and a visit to a strip club. The latter includes a cutscene where a character mentions needing to 'take a leak,' which appears to be a cheeky jab at Take-Two and Rockstar. This marks the second cutscene leaked this week, fueling concerns that the leaker has access to a full build of the game and may post major story spoilers.
These latest uploads bring the total to eight leaked videos this week, all of which promote the 'CyberLeek' memecoin, part of what many see as a crypto scheme.
On August 20, Take-Two filed DMCA subpoenas in a federal court, requesting identifying information from both Microsoft and Discord to track down the leaker(s). The company is seeking details on user accounts linked to several Discord servers, including one associated with Australian GTA content creator Matthew 'Matt' Judge, known as DarkViperAU. Judge has denied any involvement.
Additionally, on August 19, Take-Two sent a DMCA takedown notice to GitHub, stating that 'the infringer is sharing the stolen content from our copyright' and demanding the complete removal of the repository, adding that 'there are no remedies to rectify this clear case of infringement.' The subpoenas also target GitHub, asking for information on those who posted the leaks, as well as internal Microsoft records related to the 'cyberleek' persona.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York approved the Microsoft subpoena on August 21. Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet tweeted that Microsoft is 'working closely with Take-Two and Rockstar Games to support efforts to protect creative works and intellectual property.'
Discord told Variety that it 'sometimes receives subpoenas related to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)' and complies with valid requests 'as is standard and routine for companies like ours.'
Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has issued a statement, though IGN has reached out for comment.
According to Bloomberg, Rockstar is still in the dark about how the leaks occurred and who is responsible. While there are no plans to delay next week's big Netflix reveal, Bloomberg reports that the recent events have caused frustration and anger internally.
Netflix, however, is moving forward with its tease for 'Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look,' scheduled for Thursday, August 27. The stream will be exclusive to Netflix for six hours before appearing on other platforms like YouTube.
GTA 6 is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
