With Grand Theft Auto 6 anticipation at an all-time high, the gaming community is buzzing about a YouTuber who tried to waltz into developer Rockstar's offices, only to have the police show up. German creator ÜberGaming posted footage that appears to show him strolling through the front doors of Rockstar North in Edinburgh, followed by a photo of two police officers he claims were summoned. It's unclear if ÜberGaming genuinely thought he'd uncover GTA 6 secrets by simply showing up—or if it was just a publicity stunt. Either way, the internet is now debating his actions, along with wild, unsubstantiated rumors that he was detained or charged with trespassing. 'We were staying in a luxury hotel across from Rockstar Games,' ÜberGaming says in a video, which shows him outside a Marriott. 'We were also inside the [Rockstar] building, where it only took seconds before we were asked to leave. After we attracted attention, the police eventually arrived. They took down our information and asked what we wanted. When we asked why they were taking our information, they said, "If anything about GTA 6 is leaked, they will let you know." We now have five stars in real life with Rockstar Games.' This isn't the first time someone has tried to get attention at Rockstar's offices. Last year, a TikTok user posted a concerning video of Rockstar North employees being approached and harassed for game info. The Edinburgh office has long been Rockstar's heart, where major GTA and Red Dead Redemption titles were developed. In November, it was the site of protests over sudden layoffs, which workers allege were retaliation for union membership—a claim Rockstar denies. In January, fire crews responded to an explosion in the building, later found to be a faulty boiler. The highly anticipated GTA 6 is currently set for release on November 19.
