Embark Studios has deployed patch 1.20.0 for Arc Raiders, bringing a concise set of adjustments headlined by significant nerfs to the Il Toro shotgun and energy clips. The update, detailed on the extraction shooter's official site, is now active on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

While the patch introduces cosmetic additions like the Rawhide outfit and new hairstyles, along with various bug fixes, the most impactful changes target gameplay balance. The Il Toro, a fan-favorite uncommon (green) shotgun, has dominated PvP encounters with its devastating close-range power and synergy with dodge mechanics, often feeling unstoppable in skilled hands.

Update 1.20.0 aims to recalibrate this weapon, reducing its damage and fire rate while increasing base dispersion and reload times. Embark Studios explained these modifications respond to player feedback and are intended to make the Il Toro "feel more like a weapon of its rarity." The developers committed to monitoring its performance and making further tweaks if necessary, thanking the community for their input.

In a more unexpected move, the update also slashes the sell price of energy clips from 1000 to 200 coins. This adjustment addresses what the patch notes describe as an "unintentionally very profitable craft," bringing its profitability in line with other in-game items. Players who have been farming energy ammunition for currency may need to pivot their strategies.

This patch precedes the imminent Flashpoint update, expected within the next two weeks. Flashpoint promises to enhance the topside experience with a new map condition, Arc threat, player project, and a cryptic Scrappy update, though details remain scarce compared to February's Shrouded Sky expansion.

Amid these updates, Embark Studios has been in the news for other reasons. CEO Patrick Söderlund recently noted a reduction in AI voice lines since launch and commended Bungie's work on Marathon. Additionally, the company announced the departure of co-founder and CCO Rob Runesson following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a popular The Finals streamer.

Patch 1.20.0 is available across all platforms; players should restart their game to download the update. Full patch notes can be found on the Arc Raiders website.
