Rockstar Games has officially announced the pricing for Grand Theft Auto 6, along with confirmation that the game will launch with a single-player experience. The standard edition of GTA 6 will cost $79.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, marking a $10 increase from the typical $70 price point of this console generation. A $99.99 Ultimate Edition will also be available, priced $20 higher than the standard version.
There has been no mention of a new iteration of GTA Online, suggesting that the existing multiplayer mode will continue to operate alongside GTA 6's release this November. The game's price has been a major topic of discussion in the industry, with some analysts predicting it could reach $100 for the base game. While Rockstar didn't go that far, the $79.99 price tag could set a new standard for triple-A titles, potentially prompting other publishers to follow suit. So far, only Nintendo has released a game at $80 (the Switch 2 launch title Mario Kart World), while Microsoft backtracked on similar plans last year.
Preorders for GTA 6 will begin at midnight local time on June 25, with details on the Ultimate Edition and preorder bonuses already shared. Rockstar has confirmed that physical copies of GTA 6 will not include a disc; instead, they will contain a download code in the box.
As the launch approaches, Rockstar is gradually revealing more about GTA 6. Alongside the pricing and preorder announcements, a significant batch of new screenshots has been released, showcasing more of the game. Official cover art and a fresh look at Vice City have also been unveiled.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
