During today's Sony State of Play event, Rayman has awoken from an extended hiatus with the reveal of the Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, a vibrant tribute to Ubisoft's iconic platformer that gamers can dive into as early as this week.
Ubisoft is calling this updated version the "definitive edition," as it bundles together five distinct iterations of the original Rayman from various classic gaming systems. Players will also get to explore 120 extra levels, adding fresh challenges to the nostalgic experience.
For fans eager to relive the magic, the package includes an exclusive documentary that delves into Rayman's origins. The most exciting part? It all becomes available tomorrow, on February 13.
It's been a while since Ubisoft's energetic hero, Rayman, has made a significant appearance. Recent years have seen him limited to mobile games or quirky spin-offs, with his last major console title being Rayman Legends back in 2013—a game that impressed us with a 9.5/10 rating.
Could this anniversary release hint at a brand-new game in the works? While no announcements were made today, this classic re-release might pave the way for future projects. Rayman creator Michel Ancel has previously hinted at more to come from the franchise and even foreshadowed today's remake announcement.
