Arc Raiders players have expressed admiration for Embark Studios after the developer swiftly addressed duplication and infinite ammo exploits within a single day, though this rapid response has been followed by emerging reports of a new inventory glitch.
The team behind the popular extraction shooter released a hotfix today targeting multiple issues, surprising fans who anticipated these exploits would linger for days or even weeks. Initially, this move generated a flood of positive feedback from the community.
Embark Studios announced the hotfix on social media, detailing fixes for an inventory slot duplication glitch, an infinite ammo weapon glitch, and quest-related bugs from the recent Headwinds update.
One Reddit user praised the quick action, stating, "Say what you want about Embark, but this was QUICK!" Another player shared their experience, noting, "Dude I was literally in firing range, tried it successfully, went back to Speranza to grab a bobcat and give it a 100 round mag in practice range, and it just stopped working." A third added, "Insane work Embark, I didn't even restart my client."
Since its launch in October, Arc Raiders has faced ongoing challenges with duplication exploits, leading Embark to continuously address cheaters and exploiters. Earlier this week, the Stockholm-based studio fixed a dupe glitch only to encounter reports of a new one shortly after.
This persistent issue frustrates players who often encounter others with illegitimately obtained items and currency, and it appears to be a significant concern for Embark as well. As players and popular streamer TheBurntPeanut demonstrated the latest glitches, the developer launched the hotfix just one day after its previous patch.
In addition to resolving the duplication and ammo glitches, the update addressed two quest bugs. Embark has emphasized its commitment to investigating and eliminating exploits in Arc Raiders, promising to keep players informed about future issues. However, new problems have already surfaced, with numerous players reporting on social media that they've been affected by a fresh bug.
Shortly after the hotfix went live, reports emerged of a separate glitch causing players to lose their topside inventory upon extraction. It remains unclear whether this is a widespread issue or only affects those mid-raid during the hotfix deployment. The confusion has led some fans to request loot restoration from Embark, while others worry that new topside runs might result in gear loss.
One player commented, "Embark, come on guys," while another noted, "Damn, they fix one thing and break something else entirely. Good lookin out!"
Embark's approach to this latest glitch is still uncertain, though community managers are reportedly collaborating with players to identify the cause.
The Arc Raiders team continues to grapple with cheaters and exploits despite recent efforts. Last month, the studio outlined a plan to combat widespread cheating reports and has since worked to retain players through frequent gameplay adjustments, new content, and a four-month roadmap. Currently in the midst of the Headwinds update, the next chapter, Shrouded Sky, is set to introduce a new map condition, a new Arc threat, and more later this month.
