Square Enix is bringing its officially licensed cafés to Los Angeles and Shinjuku, marking the first locations for the game publisher. Announced today, both venues are set to open this spring, offering menu items inspired by various Square Enix IPs and a shop with exclusive merchandise. The Los Angeles café, operated by J-Pop Culture Cafe Inc., will be located at 316 E. 1st St. in Little Tokyo, formerly Mitsuru Sushi & Grill. The Shinjuku branch, run by Newton Corporation, will be at Paselabo Tower 1F/2F/3F, 3-36-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. While specific menu items and merch haven't been revealed, fans can expect Final Fantasy-themed food and drinks, given the franchise's history with healing and stat-boosting items. Dragon Quest's Slimes are also likely to appear, perhaps as candy. Kingdom Hearts might be trickier due to Disney licensing. In other news, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S this year, and Tetsuya Nomura confirms smooth development for Kingdom Hearts 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.
