IO Interactive's 007 First Light has impressed critics and sold 3 million copies in its first two weeks. However, confusion about the series' future arose after comments from Amazon's Head of Gaming, Jeff Gattis, who suggested sequels would be handled by MGM and, theoretically, Amazon Game Studios. To clear things up, IGN spoke with Gattis at Summer Game Fest.

"First of all, let me set the record straight," Gattis said. "I did not confirm that Amazon Game Studios is publishing the next one. Did not say that. IO's been great partners. The game's doing great. Let's let the game breathe."

Fans worried about IO's ability to continue the Bond origin story. Gattis reassured: "Trust that we're going to be smart about this. It's market appetite. As long as there's desire, it's safe to say it's going to be made."

When asked if 007 First Light's profitability would greenlight a sequel, Gattis replied: "Seems like a sequel should be made." Not a guarantee, but promising.

IO CEO Hakan Abrak told IGN he's "very confident" the game will be profitable, despite being IO's most expensive project. "We are well above our forecasts," he said. IO also outlined the game's first year of content.

007 First Light took seven years to develop, but sequels could be cheaper and quicker, Abrak noted, similar to the World of Assassination titles.

IGN's review scored 007 First Light 9/10, calling it "the best Bond game I’ve ever played." Our guide covers essential tips, stealth mastery, collectible locations, walkthroughs, and safe combinations.
