Maverick Games, the independent studio founded by former Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown, is set to unveil its new AAA open-world action-driving game on June 2 at 11am BST (6am EDT / 3am PDT / 8pm AEST). Over the past week, the team has been streaming a countdown from a modified Fiat Multipla placed inside their Leamington Spa studio. So far, they've shared a handful of screenshots and hints about possible features and a potential setting. Earlier this year, Amazon pulled out of its publishing deal with Maverick Games for the untitled racer, but Brown quickly confirmed on social media that development was still going strong and the announcement was still on track. Founded in 2022 after several staff left Forza Horizon developer Playground Games, Maverick Games includes former FH5 creative director Mike Brown, producer Tom Butcher, technical director Matt Craven, technical art director Gareth Harwood, audio director Fraser Stachan, and art director Ben Penrose. In January 2023, it was revealed that the team is working on a "premium open-world game for consoles and PC."
