Crimson Desert Update 1.06.00 Adds Claw Machine Mini-Game and Dog Attacks

Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss has delivered this week's promised update, but it's packed with more than expected, including a surprise claw machine mini-game with unique rewards.

Update 1.06.00, rolling out on all platforms, introduces the extraction feature that lets players recover materials used in refinement. While previously announced, we now have the details: special materials like Artifacts and Aeserion's Scale are recovered at 100%, while common materials like iron ore, copper ore, and bloodstones are recovered at about 70%. This should speed up the endgame grind for fully upgrading gear.

For mounts, you can now tame and summon various animals: bears, boars, wolves, deer, mountain goats, kuku birds, iguanas, raptors, camels, lions, and tigers. Ferocious animals require subduing and feeding, while some species need unique taming methods.

Other additions include a Display Sheath option to toggle weapon sheaths, the Sigil of Valor item that lets pet dogs attack enemies, and a claw machine at the Laughing Marionette with unique rewards: 12 lighting items, one chair, one special headgear, Abyss Artifacts, and Abyss Gears.

Night Tone Mode softens overall colors and brightens dark areas, while disabling it makes colors sharper and dark areas darker.

Pearl Abyss continues its impressive weekly update pace since launch. After recently improving the endgame with boss Rematch and Re-blockade features, they've added even more surprises. PR and marketing director Will Powers noted that the MMO Black Desert's weekly updates for over a year have influenced Crimson Desert's post-launch support. Originally an MMO follow-up to Black Desert before becoming a single-player game, Crimson Desert retains some MMO elements in its design and support.
