Crimson Desert has received another patch, finally adding one of the most requested features: controller remapping. Since the game launched in March, players have struggled with the awkward controls, which often lead to frustration. While you can eventually get used to them, controller remapping lets players customize controls to their liking. Now, it's here.
Update 1.09.00 also introduces around 30 new small animal species that can be registered as pets, along with new animations for picking up and putting down certain pets. This is a big patch for pet lovers.
Additionally, secondary playable characters Oongka and Damiane have new skills, and there are improvements to seed planting. One notable fix ensures that bears can finally eat their fish.
As usual, developer Pearl Abyss is releasing patches on a weekly schedule—sometimes multiple in a week. This rapid update pace, informed by the studio's experience with its MMO Black Desert, is impressive for a single-player open-world adventure game and shows no signs of slowing down.
