Arrowhead has released a significant update for Helldivers 2, adding new Galactic campaigns, a new biome, a new Control Center terminal, and much more. Patch 6.3.0 also adjusts weapon, stratagem, and enemy balance, including reduced enemy durable damage and a shorter exosuit cooldown.

The new Control Center terminal, located opposite the armory, was previously unused. It provides players with more context for ongoing campaigns and their Major Orders, as Arrowhead hinted earlier this month. Each campaign now offers its own potential reward if Helldivers win a majority of its Major Orders. The terminal also includes an archive (populated after the first campaign ends) so new and returning players can catch up on past campaign events.

Earlier this month, game director Mikael Eriksson described Galactic War Campaigns as the "next evolution" of Major Orders, lasting 1–3 weeks. "The intention is that it will always be clear what the active Campaign is, how it's going, what the outcomes have been, and what's at stake," Eriksson said, acknowledging that this wasn't always clear before in the Galactic War.

Campaigns ensure at least one reward if conditions are met. "We want to make these rewards special, because players should earn more than just medals," Eriksson explained. Some rewards will alter gameplay, others will be cool items. "It also means there is more stuff for players to work towards outside of warbonds," he teased. "Pray J.O.E.L is feeling generous; the first reward you’ll unlock is a new FRV!"

Today's update does not include the anticipated roguelite systems called Planet Warfronts, confirmed for a later release, nor the Personal Campaign Progression system with personal reward tracks.

However, there are major balance changes. Reloading, a key action in Helldivers 2, is now more responsive, and you can reload while dodge diving—a huge improvement. If ragdolled during a reload, you'll continue it upon regaining control. Delayed reloads are also introduced: if you attempt to reload when not allowed, it will delay up to 1.2 seconds. Another crucial change: stimming is no longer interrupted by stagger.

Full patch notes for Helldivers 2 update 6.3.0:

  • Super Earth High Command has completed fleet-wide upgrades to the previously unused terminal opposite the armory. Helldivers can now get more context on ongoing Campaigns and their Major Orders. Each Campaign offers a potential reward if Helldivers win a majority of its Major Orders. The terminal also features an archive (populated after the first campaign) for new and returning Helldivers to read about past campaigns.

  • G-13 Incendiary Impact

  • Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods: Intent: Better at one-shotting smaller heavies like Chargers, Hulks, and Harvesters (without shields). Can also kill larger enemies like Tanks. Not a guaranteed kill, but more reliable.

  • Orbital Precision Strike

  • Orbital 380mm HE Barrage

  • Orbital Walking Barrage

  • SEAF Artillery Explosive/High Yield Explosive

  • Orbital 120mm HE Barrage

  • Orbital Railcannon Strike: Projectile was negated by Gas resistance armor, which didn't make sense. Explosion is still gas elemental.

  • M-102 Fast Recon Vehicle

  • Weapons & Stratagem Fixes
