Marvel Rivals is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch 2, as confirmed by its development team. During an interview with IGN at the Game Developers Conference, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo was asked about the possibility of a Switch 2 version. He revealed that work on the port is already underway, stating, 'We're working on it, but when we have news, we'll announce that one.' To ensure clarity, the question was rephrased, and Koo reaffirmed with a simple, 'We will do it.'

Speculation about a Switch version has been ongoing for some time. Last year, before the console's launch, producer Weicong Wu mentioned that the studio was 'in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits.' Later, in July of the same year, game director Guangyun Chen noted that a Switch 2 version was still under consideration, though the team had not yet received a dev kit. Koo's latest comments indicate that this hurdle has been overcome.

However, fans hoping for a mobile version of Marvel Rivals may be disappointed. When asked about potential iOS or Android releases, Koo explained, 'Yeah, this one on the mobile game is not going to work. If we're going to do a mobile, it's going to be a whole different game. Because of the feedback, the touch. The controls are just so different.'

While no release date has been announced, the confirmation is welcome news for Nintendo enthusiasts who have been anticipating the game for over a year. Marvel Rivals, which we rated 8/10 at launch, offers an accessible yet deep experience with a diverse roster of comic book characters. The game recently launched Season 7, introducing White Fox to its expanding lineup.

In addition to the Switch 2 news, the Marvel Rivals team discussed future character additions and the intricate planning behind the game's year-long Path to Doomsday event.
