The fight for Managed Democracy continues, and Arrowhead has released a new Helldivers 2 patch that brings significant performance upgrades players have been waiting for.
Patch 6.2.5 introduces upscaling technologies, latency-reduction features, and "various optimizations and stability fixes" to help players stay on target during chaotic battles, according to Arrowhead. The full patch notes are available on Steam.
This update, originally scheduled for Wednesday (May 27) but delayed due to an "unexpected submission bug," was developed alongside Nixxes Software. It adds support for upscalers including FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5, and XeSS 3.0, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for PS5 and PS5 Pro, and Variable Rate Shading (VRS) for compatible devices, all aimed at smoothing gameplay.
Notably, the patch fixes an issue where Helldivers couldn't manually climb small obstacles and ledges without auto-climb, hopefully finally resolving vaulting problems in Helldivers 2.
Remember, Helldivers 2 is also getting a Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond later this year, making one of the most requested crossovers a reality. Game director Mikael Eriksson said the two worlds "fit perfectly together," adding that Arrowhead is "full of die hard Warhammer fans."
