Bandai Namco has reimagined iconic fighting game characters like Kazuya and Kuma in the first teaser for a Tekken cartoon. Officially titled "TEKKEN! CARTOON," the 90-second trailer blends live-action and animation to introduce an unexpected spin-off for the long-running series. The teaser features only five characters—Kazuya, Kuma, Yoshimitsu, Paul, and Alisa—but more cute versions of fan favorites could appear in the final product. "Your favorite #TEKKEN characters are coming out of the ring and into the cartoon world!" reads the official description. "Keep an eye on our socials for more news about the TEKKEN! CARTOON." The YouTube description also reveals some of the trailer's staff, including animator Amerhiro, whose social media work shares a similar style. Tekken! Cartoon might be the last thing fans expected, as these are colorful, adorable versions of characters who've fought for decades. With little info on what it is or where it will air, fans are puzzled. One commented, "I thought this was an ad for Tekken snacks." Another joked, "TEKKEN BABIES IS REAL!!" Some are confused by another Tekken animated project emerging without updates on Netflix's Tekken: Bloodline, which premiered in 2022 with visuals closer to the games. Tekken! Cartoon has no release date or plot details yet. Meanwhile, despite the departure of series veteran Katsuhiro Harada in December 2025 and director Kohei 'Nakatsu' Ikeda recently, the franchise continues with updates, including Tekken 8 adding Baki's Yujiro Hanma as DLC.
